Mission & Vision

Go therefore and make disciples...

The Mission

We exist to introduce people to Jesus; personally, rationally, and redemptively. Through His love, truth, and power, we help people encounter Him, follow Him, and be transformed by Him.

The Vision

We envision a Spirit-led, grace-filled community where every person is welcomed into God's redemptive story. At The Mosaic, we are forming a church that reflects the beauty of unity in diversity, the simplicity of Jesus-centered discipleship, and the courage to walk in love and truth for the renewal of all things.

What We Believe

We are a people caught up in the unfolding story of God; a story that began in a garden, found its center in Jesus of Nazareth, and continues through the Spirit-we are an empowered body called the Church. We gather not to form an institution, but to become a community of transformation: embodying love, justice, and reconciliation in a world aching for renewal.
We believe every life, no matter how broken, overlooked, or different, has a place in the mosaic God is building through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even our broken pieces belong in His masterpiece.

Our Identity & Calling

We are the Church. Not a building, but a people called out (ἐκκλησία) to bear witness to God's healing of creation. Our purpose is participation in the Kingdom of God, as inaugurated in Jesus Christ: to live lives of resurrection hope, humility, and mercy.

Matthew 5:14 - "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

Mark 1:15 - "The kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news."

Scripture

We affirm the Bible as the sacred library of writings that tell the true story of God's covenantal love with humanity. We do not read the Scriptures as a rulebook, but as a unified, unfolding narrative leading us to Jesus and inviting us to become transformed participants in the story.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

God

We believe in the Trinitarian God: Father, Son, and Spirit -- Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. God is Love, endlessly relational, always seeking restoration and communion with creation.

We reject dualism and isolation. All of life is sacred. The divine presence saturates every square inch of creation.

Jesus Christ

Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah, the embodied Logos, the image of the invisible God. He reveals the true nature of God through self-giving love, radical hospitality, and nonviolent resistance to the powers of darkness.

His life, death, and resurrection are not just events to believe in; they are a pattern of transformation to follow. He is the prototype of the New Creation.

Colossians 1:17 - "In Christ, all things hold together."

The Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the divine presence within and among us, guiding us into truth, convicting, empowering, and drawing us into communion.

We affirm that the Spirit is not confined to institutions or formulas, but breathes where she will (John 3:8), leading the Church into ever deeper love and liberation.

Apostles' Creed

We believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christm his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descenced into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hanf of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Amen.

Salvation

Salvation is not escape. It is participation. We are saved not from the world, but for the world: to join Jesus in his mission of reconciliation and renewal. This is a journey, not a transaction.

Salvation is past (we have been rescued), present (we are being formed), and future (we await full restoration of all things).

The Church

The Church is not defined by correct doctrine or perfect people, but by Christ-shaped community. We gather to worship, to be transformed, and to participate in the Spirit's ongoing work of justice, healing, and peacemaking.

We affirm:
  • The dignity of all people, created in God's image.
  • The role of the Church in dismantling systems of injustice.
  • The priesthood of all believers. Everyone has a role to play.
  • The importance of forming emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and relationally healthy disciples.

Practices and Rhythms

We Practice:
  • Baptism as an initiation into the story of death and resurrection. We practice full immersion, while respectingother traditions that reflect sincere faith and biblical intent.
  • Communion as a sacred meal of remembrance and anticipation.
  • Spiritual disciplines (prayers, silence, study, simplicity, generosity, activism) as tools of formation, not obligation.

The Hope of Renewal

Our eschatology is not escapist. We affirm the resurrection of the body and the restoration of creation. Heaven is not elsewhere; it is breaking into the present. Our work now matters forever.

Revelation 21:5 - "Behold, I make all things new."

Final Words

We do not claim to have all the answers. We hold our theology with humility and our mission with boldness. We exist to follow Jesus, embody the gospel, and welcome all into the unfolding mystery of God.

"In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty, in all things, love."
